The Power of Acceptance
08/17/2020
Welcome back to the Queendom!
Today's meditative scripture is Romans 15:7: "Therefore accept one another, even as Christ also accepted you, to the glory of God"
I was reminded of my high school days when I read this passage of scripture. I remember relocating to Chicago in my sophomore year and being the "new girl" at a school that seemed to be very clique-ish. It didn't take very long for me to be put in the "lame" category and I was often not welcome in a lot of circles. It took someone to tell me "You were created a box, you'll never fit in a circle" for me to realize that I wasn't the problem.
Fast forward to present day and reminded of that word that was spoken into my life, I was delivered from the pain of past rejection and learned to embrace being my own person.
This passage of scripture is a reminder from Christ that we should never forget where we came from before he accepted us. When we stay in constant remembrance of who we were, we become more compassionate towards people where they are.
I encourage you on today to start accepting people where they are because rejection is powerful, but acceptance can set someone free.
